This proposal called for a renovation of a
1960s suburban residence. The house was nearly stripped of
all interior and exterior finishes while walls were removed
to make a single kitchen/dining/living space. A master
suite was faceted inside the existing shell and new
apertures were introduced into the building envelope to
control light and views in a more meaningful way. The
building skin consisted of cement board with horizontal
aluminum angle batten strips.
