The proposal for this residence is
initiated through the use of two didactic spatial types:
universal space and discrete space. These discrete volumes
or “monitors” become the generator of the spatial,
structural, and tectonic organization of the project. The
space between monitors is where the primary view and light
giving spaces of the house are located: Living Room, Master
Bedroom, Entry Sequence are all given primary
consideration. The secondary spaces become the monitors and
provide an opposition to the flowing space around them. The
monitors also regulate daylight in a particular way, which
brings a dramatic and varied spatial phenomena to the
project.
